I use a variety of media and found objects in my large-scale collaged paintings.
Combined materials include antique bottles, rulers and ruled papers.
Math, science (particularly biology,) and history texts are incorporated into the
collaged paintings. I am concerned with what is knowable and what is unknowable.
And the interconnectedness of life. Ideas of containment and measurement are
juxtaposed with codes of behavior and methods of perception. Ritualistic behavior
and belief systems are on view. Visual information is layered, half covered, and
sometimes completely hidden. Words and text hint at themes and inspiration.
